Halloween!

I'm so excited! I want to put on my costume now! I carved out a pumpkin tonight. I haven't lit it yet though because we didn't have a lighter of matches. It needs to be tomorrow after classes.

Orchestra Replacements

So I went home this weekend to check out my old orchestra's (the Boffalo Community Orchestra) Halloween concert. They were pretty good. I enjoyed it.

So a little background information. I played in this orchestra for two years on the Upright Bass. I was the only one. Every once in a while they found some random person from the U of M to come out and sight read the music for the concerts, but for the most part I was alone on bass. I didn't like this, since I'm really not all that good. I always begged them to get another full time bass player so I would hve some help. That never happened. Now this year, they have three bass players. Why couldn't at least one of them joined last year or they year before? Grr! Jerks. Anyway, I decided that I will think of it as I was so good that it took three people to replace me. I think that's the only reasonable explination.

On a side note, my record is now three for five. Take that police mans!

My New Favorite Key

So I have come to the conclusion (after countless hours of tedious thought) that my new favorite key is E Dorian. It's a neat key. Go hit four octives of E on a keyboard, it just get's your attention. Also (and this happens to be the main reason for it), the Halo theme is coincidentaly in E Dorian. And for that, I love E Dorian.

Presentation Assignment Things

So now that I can't do my origional idea for my presentation anymore, I'm stuck in the position of finding something new to do. It's not easy, especially after that swing dancing one. But I think I may have come up with one, though I'm not sure how I can do it. I want to teach everyone how to play the Tuba. Why? Well, why not? It's used in New Orleans swing. And it's also kind of fun to play. I don't have a tuba, so that is what will make this hard to do. But honestly, if I could, how random and neat would that be?

Chinese Stuff

So today I was playing World of Warcraft (possibly one of the greatest games of all time) and was leveling one of my alt characters. Some person randomly wants to group with me for help with one of their quests. I declined because I didn't want to help anyone right then. I planned on using a the lame excuse that I was Chinese and wouldn't be able to help him, so I whispered him a "ni hao." Little did I know that I accidentally spelled his name wrong and whispered an actual Chinese person. I started to have a conversation with this person, which I understood very little of... I believe he/she asked me if I was Chinese, which I responded by telling him that I am an American student studying Chinese. Then he/she started to say some stuff that I didn't know and was too lazy to look up. Though it was really amusing at the start, as I was more astounded by the odds of my actually randomly whispering a Chinese person on a US server (which the few are gold farmers who sell WoW gold for real money on EBay or something like that), I ended up getting really tired of trying to hold a conversation in a language that I barely understood. So I logged out and played my main character. And that is my story for the week. How I ended up holding a random conversation with some Chinese gold farmer. That should be worth something...

By the way, if any of you play, Eredar is the realm where all the cool people are at.
Oh, and I punt Gnomes. Horde for the win!

Ahh!

I just realized, it's Friday the 13th! And I have to drive home today! I'm scared! Knowing my track record, I'm going to get a ticked for sure!

UPDATE!!!
<10/18/06 1:05 AM>
I am pleased to report that my perfect record had been broken. Even though it was the terrible Friday the 13th, I was not pulled over. I wasn't even pulled over at all this weekend! Yay! My new record is 3 for 4! Slight improvement.

Mmmm... Coffee!

Mmm... I like coffee!
So I finally went to the Common House coffee place this week. I've gone three times since. Yeah, I liked it. So far, I would probably place it as one of the best things in Morris. The only thing that's keeping it from number one is that I just found out that it's a religious coffee shop. Not to say there is anything wrong with religion and for those of you who believe in that stuff, good for you. But today when I went there I had my first run in with ultra-conservative religious idiots who said one of the stupidest, least educated, and careless things I have ever heard in at least a half a year. They were loud too, so for those of you who say I was eavesdropping, it was impossible to not hear them. They started talking about religion, and one of them said jokingly, "I'm not Christian, I'm Muslim now." One of the ladies immediately went on the offencive and said that you shouldn't even joke around about that. Then, to my extreme disgust, she said, you shouldn't even joke around about that, Muslims and Hindus don't believe in a god. At this point I slowly turned around, careful not to make it look like I was looking at them, to find out who these people were. To my disappointment, they were old and I didn't want to tear apart an old person for being so stupid. Maybe I should have. Given them not only a lecture on how wrong they were, but a lesson in religious history as well. I could go on for hours about why they were wrong and how people like that are destroying America's image. Someday... my dream will come true and someone will die (figuratively). People like this make me not want to give anything to religion because I don't want to hep something that makes people into mindless slaves that know nothing about other cultures, which is depressing because they have really good coffee. The only thing they need now is to lose the religious support and redecorate. Seriously, the atmosphere could use an update. Too old.

Haha! Funny stuff...

As I returned to my dorm from a friends house today, I saw a sprinkler on the Soccer fields (I think they're Soccer fields) squirting water everywhich way. Now the only thing that made it amusing was the fact that it's about 25 - 30 degress (F) outside. It was more like a snow machine than a sprinkler. Anywho, it gave me the giggles and I thought I would share it with you all.

McDonnalds

Okay, so I'm scared of going to McDonnalds in Morris. Every time I've been there I've gotten looks from some of the local regulars. It's really starting to scare me. Expecially sinse they don't stop. I even tried waving to them, they just kept stareing. I know I look funny and all but I don't thik I look that funny. If I ever get my comments thing working again I want to know if anyone else has come across this.

Laundry Services

Grr! I hate laundry! Not just because it takes forever and is extremely boing, but people do really stupid things while they do their laundy. Stupid things like fall asleep while they have a bunch of stuff in the wash or the dryer and leave it there untill morning. Then when someone else needs to use it, they can't. Grr! Also, if you look at the tags to cloths that can be bleached, it says bleech when needed! You don't need a bunch of bleech either. I was unfortuante enough to come across someone who didn't understan that and used way too much bleech. They got bleech on one of my newer shirts (only worn twice) and destroyed it. The person used so much bleech that there is actually a hole in my shirt from it. And on a side note, the pool table in Gay Hall needs to be recothed. It has really poor roll.

New Template

I know it's a bit confusing, seeing as to see th blogs you have to click on the blogs tab. But I think this layout looks really cool, so you're all going to have to deal with it.

Wow... Funny Stuff

So I realized that there are a lot of religious TV channels here in Morris. So today, i decided to watch one. I watched a show on EWTN (I don't know what it means) called "We Are Catholic." It was a cartoon clearly aimed at children. I appologize in advance to any Catholics who read this as it may offend you.

Okay, so this cartoon was very poorly made. Animations were jerky sound was very poor, which added to the comedy. After each character talked, there was average of about 1.5 seconds untill a character responded. This was also funny. I laughed through the entire thing because it was so stupid. Then I was appauled when I realized that this was an attempt to brainwash young kids to follow Catholicism to an extreme. After I got over that, I laughed some more. And now I'm appauled again. Those poor children who are forced to watch this kind of proraming. They will never learn to think for themselves.

Yay! Shopping!

I got to go to MoA this weekend! I love going there. Too ad it's so far away from this place, or I would go all the time just to hang out and look around. I only spent $70 there though. I didn't find a lot that I loved for under $60 so I didn't buy much. I bought a sweater, two scarves, and six cute pairs of socks. Sometimes going shopping depresses me. It makes me wish that I had money.

Also, the whole eastbound 694 being closed from highway 100 to Penn Ave. sucked. Being a man, I thought I would take a shorter and quicker way around the constuction and avoid the most likely long detour. Instead, I got lost. The only reason I knew I was kind of going the right direction was every once in a whle I saw a plane going in fot a landing in front of me. When I was about to give up and ask for dirctions, I luckily ran into 35W, so I wasn't lost anymore. Which was good as it shouldn't take anywhere near an hour and 15 minutes for me to get to the mall. Maybe 30 minutes, 45 minutes tos if there's bad traffic.

Bad Record

I have a really bad record going with the police on weekends that I go home. So far, out of the three times I've gone home, I've been pulled over three times. All for stupid lame reasons. Twice for not having a front liscense plate and once for going 80 on the freeway. I think the cops are out to get me. I think if there's one thing that I've learned from this, it's don't go back to Morris, because I'll get pulled over if I want to leave.

Blog Summary

So two things begore I get started on this. One, yes I know I'm a bit late one it. I had a very busy weekend (which was very fun by the way, but more on that in another post). And two, I don't remember. But there were suppose to be two. Oh well, here goes the summary.

Okay, the first one I read had an interesting comment on people saying being too hard on Govener Blanko. To whomever The Little Rabit is...
Yes, we should hold our government officials to high standards. We should expect a lot ou of them. But there comes a point in which the criticism distracts from the actual job. The widespread criticism of Governer Blanko had nothing to do with the actual job she was elected to preform. She was elected to run a state, not entertain a bunch of colege students.

Now that that's out of the way... I'll get back to the summmary.

Many people post mainly things related to class. This concerns me. It could mean one of two tings (and yes, I really have two this time). Either no one in this class does anything outside of their schoolwork except for me, or I'm not posting anything useful. I chose to believe the first one because I think posting random things abut my life tell someone more about who I am that a bunch of classroom information. Also, many people haven't posted much in the last couple of weeks. However, for the people that poted, there were several common themes. All of which were class related. many people posted about what they will do their presentations on. Some people had some really neat ideas and many wanted simply to play a song on a guitar or something. Many others posted comments on readings from class. Most of which were on chapter three. A lot of peoplealso posted things about how much they like Pandora. Which is cool because Pandora is cool, sometimes. Granted most of the time I'm not using it for class related reasons, I've found some really cool bands that I proably never would have heard ever. Yay Pandora!

So yeah, that's basically what people have been posting. Fun stuff.
